Monica Singh

Business Immigration Department Chair

Monica Singh is a senior attorney with the law firm and oversees the Business Immigration Department at GILT. From 2014-2016, she was chosen as a “Rising Star” in the area of immigration law by Pennsylvania’s SuperLawyers Magazine. Monica is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Philadelphia Chapter and served as its 2019/2020 Chair. Monica graduated from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in 2008. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish from Westminster College. Monica believes that everyone deserves advocacy and will not readily accept unreasonable denials from USCIS. She prides herself challenging such decisions through strategic advocacy within the administrative system, and when necessary, through the federal court system.

Monica represents clients in family and employment-based contexts, including immigrant visas, nonimmigrant visas, waivers, naturalization, and requests under the Violence Against Women Act. Monica also has successfully handled many requests for parole entry into the U.S. and deferred action authorizations based on medical need or other compelling circumstances. Over the years, Monica has amassed a particular expertise in advising IT consulting firms on H-1B compliance issues, assisting scientific researchers in seeking national interest waivers, and helping students with requests for reinstatement.

Formerly an avid runner and tennis player, Monica now enjoys spending her time thrashing the speed bag and walking her wheaten terrier.  Monica is conversational in Spanish and possesses a limited working proficiency in Punjabi.
